Event Vendors at the Uncorked Wine & Music Festival

2025 Featured Artist: Linda Downs

Linda fell in love with Lake City when she and her family began vacationing here in the 90’s.  The dream to settle here became a reality in 2014 when her husband Bob was hired at Lake City Area Medical Center.  Linda had a busy veterinary house call practice in Ohio but followed three years later and set up practice in Lake City.  During the time she and Bob lived apart, a friend suggested that they learn watercolor together.  At first hesitant, Linda was pushed by her friend to experiment with the medium, to be accountable for regular practice, and to get over ‘perfectionism’.  She soon realized that watercolor was the perfect medium to capture the beauty she enjoyed on hiking, snowshoeing and skiing adventures in the San Juan Mountains.   She is on the board of Lake City Arts and has enjoyed taking classes and sharing the learning process with others.  Linda has taught classes on silk painting, alcohol ink, watercolor techniques, fused glass, travel journaling, origami and most recently printmaking.

This year’s Wine & Music artwork is inspired by the beautiful mountains and plentiful wildlife and flowers of the San Juan Mountains welcoming all who visit Lake City.  Linda had fun imagining woodland creatures singing, dancing and toasting each other in front of iconic Uncompahgre Mountain.
